040200 Psychology(discipline authorized to offer master degreeprogram)
The psychology discipline at Ningbo University was established in 2001. In 2003 and 2006, it was successively approved to grant master's degree authorization for the secondary disciplines of developmental and educational psychology and applied psychology. In 2011, it was approved to grant master's degree authorization for the primary discipline of psychology. In 2018, it added a master's degree authorization for the major of applied psychology. In recent years, the psychology discipline has actively aligned with national development strategies, conducted scientific research on major theoretical and practical issues related to China's social development, and achieved a series of important scientific research results that have reached leading levels.
This discipline is a key construction discipline in Ningbo City (2018~2020) and a key construction planning discipline at Ningbo University (2019~2022). It currently has 32 full-time teachers, including 9 professors (researchers) and 13 associate professors. 90% of the teachers hold doctoral degrees, making it a vibrant and energetic teaching team. Among them, there is 1 outstanding teacher in Zhejiang Province, 1 second-level talent in Zhejiang Province's 151 Talent Project, 1 Zhijiang Young Scholar in Zhejiang Province, and 2 Zhejiang East Young Scholars at Ningbo University. Professor Luo Yuejia, a winner of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, has been appointed as the "Yuegang Yao Lecturer" at Ningbo University, and Professor Zhou Xinyue, also a winner of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, has been appointed as the "Yongjiang Scholar" chair professor at Ningbo University.
In recent years, the discipline has enjoyed a clear direction for development and a robust momentum in scientific research achievements. Discipline teachers have been approved to lead 18 national-level projects and 22 provincial and ministerial-level projects. They have published over 15 papers in the prestigious journal "Acta Psychologica Sinica", over 30 papers in SCI and SSCI journals, over 50 papers in CSSCI journals, and authored 6 academic monographs. They have also won 1 Excellent Achievement Award in Philosophy and Social Sciences of Zhejiang Province, achieving significant influence both domestically and internationally, and maintaining a strong momentum in discipline development.
We emphasize the enhancement of scientific research and innovation training for graduate students, achieving remarkable results in talent cultivation. We have successively won 5 outstanding master's degree theses in Zhejiang Province, 4 "Zhuochuang" degree theses from Ningbo University, 1 special award, 1 second prize, and 2 third prizes in the Zhejiang Province "Challenge Cup" extracurricular works competition for college students. The first author of the graduate student has published 6 papers in the authoritative journal "Acta Psychologica Sinica", over 30 papers in SSCI/SCI journals, and over 20 papers in CSSCI-indexed journals. Additionally, several outstanding graduates have been admitted to prestigious 985/211 universities in China to pursue doctoral degrees.
Currently, the discipline boasts an advanced psychology laboratory with an effective use area of 700 square meters and a total value of 6 million yuan in large-scale instruments and equipment. These include two sets of 64-channel EEG recording systems, two sets of 32-channel EEG recording systems, two sets of multi-type eye-tracking systems, a 32-channel biofeedback recording system, and a transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) system, among other large-scale scientific research instruments and equipment. These provide an experimental platform and basic conditions for high-level scientific research.
