Educational Objectives
This major fully implements the Party's educational policy, actively adapts to the requirements for teachers' professional quality imposed by the national basic education reform and the high-quality and balanced development of compulsory education in Zhejiang, and aims to cultivate high-quality and professional primary school teachers who are based in Ningbo, serve Zhejiang and the whole country, possess noble teacher ethics and a strong educational sentiment, have comprehensive qualities and solid practical skills, and have certain teaching expertise and sustainable development potential.

Child psychology, principles of education, educational research methods, modern educational technology, educational policies and regulations, primary school Chinese curriculum and teaching theory, primary school mathematics curriculum and teaching theory, primary school class management, etc.
Professional Features
This major has passed the second-level certification for teacher education majors by the Ministry of Education, and is recognized as a national first-class major, a first-class major in Zhejiang Province, and a teacher education demonstration zone in Zhejiang Province. In 2021, it was rated as a 5★ major in the "China University and Discipline Evaluation Report". This major inherits the tradition of teacher education that emphasizes teacher skill training and practical ability cultivation. It has a practical curriculum system that conforms to the law of teacher practical wisdom development, and a strictly standardized and comprehensive teacher skill assessment system. It boasts a "platform + module" primary education curriculum system that integrates general education, subject education, and professional education. It adheres to a talent cultivation model centered on "problem-centered approach, case-based learning, in-depth exploration, and performance-based evaluation", focusing on cultivating teacher students' teaching expertise and teaching research abilities.
Employment and Further Education
The vast majority of graduates from this major pursue careers in primary education, with a high employment rate that consistently remains above 97%. Most graduates are able to obtain formal teacher positions, becoming officially registered teachers in various public primary schools. Every year, students further their studies at prestigious universities such as Beijing Normal University, East China Normal University, and Nanjing Normal University.
